Goolwa Surf Lifesaving Club
Goolwa Surf life Saving club was established in 2010 and since then, the dedicated volunteers have provided essential surf life saving supports to Goolwa Beach and the surrounding areas. Located on the Fleurieu Peninsula, where the Murray River meets the sea, Goolwa Surf Life Saving club provides an essential emergency service along a stretch of beach that is known for its beauty and challenges. Along with our surf life saving skills, our club provides a space for community and family’s, including junior programs, training courses, surf sports and much more. With the development of our new club in 2019, we are now able to offer a place for everyone to come and enjoy our beautiful beach any time of year, and we welcome you to join us for a beverage, nibbles, or host your special event, or community activity.
We are proud to provide a family centered and welcoming club that aspires to cater for all members of the community. We are 100% volunteer run and would love to talk to anyone to see how we can help you get involved.

The environment
The coastline of Alexandrina council boasts some of the best coastline within the state with Goolwa beach being one of the most popular. The Goolwa coastline offers a diversity of coastal experience including fishing, swimming kayaking and surfing.
Caution
While on most occasions the beach is a haven for visitors it can also be one of the most hazardous and dangerous stretches of coast in Australia.
Lifesaving
People visiting the area have varying degrees of skill and experience and this can determine how well they will manage the change of conditions. This is why the need for Surf lifesavers in this area is crucial. Goolwa Surf lifesavers understand the conditions and regularly train at Goolwa beach. Our octogenarians have passed down their words of wisdom, rescue stories and great advice for us to then retell to our nippers and youth.
